THE OVER AND BACK BAND

Introducing Minnesota Rock/Country Music Hall of Fame fiddler Mike Hildebrandt and the amazing "Over & Back Band". Hildebrandt, who is also a physician, has been a stalwart of the Minnesota bluegrass and acoustic music scene for over 30 years and has also played with a variety of Nashville and Branson musicians.

Having worked with artists like John McCutcheon, Kate McKenzie, Dean Magraw, Bill Staines, and the late Dave "Snaker" Ray as the "house band" for the much-loved "Over & Back Benefit Show", Hildebrandt and the group consistantly experienced sold-out audiences, stellar reviews and standing ovations. That show benefitted more than 45 local community organizations during it's 15 year run.

The band plays a wide variety of fiddle-oriented, high energy, Americana and gypsy style music reflecting Hildebrandt's varied background in bluegrass, swing, jazz, and classical styles. The other band members are: keyboard whiz and soulful vocalist Craig Wasner; bassist and vocalist Gordon Oschwald; and percussionist Steve Jennings. Between electrifying fiddle numbers, the group has been known to step up for a 4 part vocal gospel song; pick up guitars and mandolin and do an unplugged set; or simply grab the nearest item not bolted down and go off into a wild percussion jam.
